Man Shoots Gun in Classics Bar & Grill to Break Up A Fight

Two women fighting leads to shots being fired.

The Hazelwood Police Department is looking for a man that tried to break up a fight by allegedly shooting a gun in the air.

Hazelwood Police Sargent Patrick Schierbecker said the incident happened Sunday at 1:10 a.m.

Schierbecker said the police responded to an incident where two women were fighting each other inside of Classics Bar & Grill when a man interceded, pulled out his gun and shot it in the air.

"I guess that was his way of getting their attention," Schierbecker said. "He shot up into the ceiling."

By the time police arrived, the man was gone. Schierbecker said the two women refused to press charges against each other after the fight was broken up.

There were no injuries stemming from the gun incident and police are actively seeking the shooter for discharging a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon.
