The man entered the home, took the car keys and stole a 2003 Dodge Durango, Hazelwood Police said.
A man snuck into a neighbor’s home on Hazelcrest Drive Dec. 10 and then stole an SUV belonging to the neighbor, Hazelwood Police said. Shawon Jones, 18, of the 7500 block of Hazelcrest Drive in Hazelwood, was charged Wednesday with first-degree burglary and stealing a vehicle. Hazelwood Police said Jones entered a neighbor’s home, also in the 7500 block of Hazelcrest and took the car keys while the owner was in the house. He then stole the neighbor’s 2003 Dodge Durango SUV, polic said. Jones was being held in St. Louis County jail on Friday. Bail was set at $60,000, cash only. A Hazelwood man faces criminal charges after police said he broke into a home twice last year and stole items from a neighbor. Rodney Williams, 34, of the 7200 block of Hazelcrest Drive in Hazelwood, was charged Friday with second-degree burglary and felony stealing. Hazelwood Police said Williams entered another home in the 7200 block of Hazelcrest on June 25 and June 30, 2011, stealing two televisions and a gold wedding band. a total value estimated at $1,000. A Hazelwood resident kept tabs on a man who came to his door July 16 and helped police nab a burglary suspect, according to a St. Louis County Police report. Terry Winebarger II, 39, of the 6000 block of Lindbergh Boulevard in Hazelwood, was charged Saturday with second-degree burglary and felony stealing. St. Louis County Police said Winebarger knocked on door near Sunset Drive in Hazelwood and asked the resident if he could use his hose. The resident watched Winebarger leave his residence and go further into the subdivision, police said in a report. The witness took photos of Winebarger’s car in front of a neighbor’s house in the 12000 block of Sunset Drive. The home later was reported burglarized. Two laptop computers, a flat screen TV…
