Jared Fosdick and Devin Williams Commit to MIZZOU on National Signing Day

Both Hazelwood West High School baseball players, along with other student athletes from across the district signed their letters of intent to launch their college athletic careers.

Hazelwood West High School athletes Jared Fosdick and Devin Williams both signed letters of intent to play baseball at the University of Missouri on Wednesday. Jared, along with his cousin Brendan Fosdick, were a family powerhouse for the Wildcats last season, in which Hazelwood Patch featured the two in an article. Jared is a left-handed pitcher that can also get around a ball. Last season he had a .385 batting average. Williams has had a lot of buzz and scouts looking at him, as well. National Signing Day: Ezekiel Elliott Signs Letter Of Intent With Ohio State Buckeyes

February 6 is the first day high school seniors can confirm their college choices. The University of Missouri, Ohio State and Oklahoma State are among the NCAA schools looking to St. Louis for recruits.

College coaches are getting their money's worth out of fax machines today. This is the first day high school seniors playing Football, Baseball Field Hockey, Soccer, Track and Field, Cross Country, Men's Water Polo can submit a signed letter of intent to play at the college level. Ezekiel Elliott, the John Burroughs running back who gave a verbal pledge to the Ohio State Buckeyes last spring, confirmed that decision late Wednesday afternoon in an announcement that was also carried on live local television. Hazelwood West Hosts National Signing Day Event

Four football players, one baseball player accept college scholarships for 2011-12 school year.

National Signing Day, as it has become known, is the day when high school student-athletes from around the country can make their college choice official by accepting a formal scholarship offer and signing a national letter of intent (NLI) to attend whatever college or university that student-athlete chooses. These signing day events are a national phenomenon, sometimes televised on ESPN or other outlets, and are always days of great pride and celebration for the student-athletes involved, their families, teachers, and coaches.
