Where Did Todd Akin Vote for Primary?

Some inquiring minds among Patch readers want to know exactly where U.S. Republican Senator candidate Todd Akin cast his vote after he edged out two others for the Republican slot...

St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Akin cast a ballot in Town & Country 10 times after he and his wife, Lulli, purchased the Wildwood home at the end of 2007. Hazelwood Election 2012

Hazelwood Voters, It's All Up To You Now

Low voter turnout was anticipated for today. Still, if you voted or tried to vote, tell 'Patch' about your experience at the polls.

It has been more of a snail's race in the City of Hazelwood with overall voter turnout expected to be fairly low in St. Louis and St. Charles counties. Hazelwood Patch stopped through Prairie Commons Library around 1 p.m. and only five voters showed up in the 45 minute time span. Poll volunteers said voter turnout had been low throughout the day. Hazelwood Communications Coordinator Tim Davidson said when he checked with the election polling officials  at Hazelwood City Hall they echoed the same sentiment. "They told me voter turnout has been very light here as well," he said. Davidson also said he received the same feedback from poll workers at Hazelwood Civic Center East. Polls close at 7 p.m. Have you voted? Tell Patch what was …

Passage of Prop H Adds Up to Dollars for Hazelwood Schools

Voter approval means upgrades to facilities in the Hazelwood School District.

Voters in Hazelwood signaled their support for local schools when they approved Proposition H. Seventy-five percent of them sent plans for a wide range of upgrades and renovations to the head of class on election day. The measure provides for a $120 million bond issue that would fund the work without a tax-rate increase. "Work can begin as early as the spring," said Diana Gulotta, Assistant Superintendant of Communications for the Hazelwood School District. "It depends on where they [the schools] are on the timeline, how much work we can do while school is in, and what has to be done during the summer when school is out. " Gulotta added that the goal is to have $60 million of the bonds sold by the end of 2010. Proposition H marks the …
