Boeing Helping Veterans Move into High Paying Manufacturing Careers

General Electric, Alcoa, Boeing and Lockheed Martin have pooled resources to help 15,000 veterans get manufacturing jobs at training sites including one in St. Louis.

The Boeing Co., which has a defense sector located in the City of Hazelwood, is one of a handful of large companies that has set out to employ veterans. Along with General Electric, Alcoa, Lockheed Martin and a national industry group, Boeing plans to get thousands of veterans into high-paying manufacturing careers, according to a USA Today report. The Manufacturing Institute, a nonprofit branch of the National Association of Manufacturers, will manage the project. Mlitary skills will be matched with civilian jobs, along with training for veterans  to fill skill gaps. Being a Boeing employee i feel that every other Boeing site except for the Pudget sound area are very vet oriented and genuine about helping and hiring vets. After getting into the position I am in I have been having sudden relapses of PTSD and have been having severe flashback. Veterans Day 2012: Ways to Help A Veteran

There is free food, discounted entertainment and services to give thanks to vets. Now the Small Business Administration has another way to help a those who served in the United States Armed Forces.

Monday marks the federal observance of Veterans Day 2012. The purpose of the day is to show gratitude to those that have served in the armed forces. Some thanks shown this weekend have been through freebies: food, service and entertainment. But the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has another way to say thanks, through its small business programs for veterans.  SBA continues to build on its successful programs for America's military veterans, helping tens of thousands of veterans each year with small business financing, comprehensive business training and counseling and access to federal contracts, according to the administration.
