Hazelwood Man Steals Keys, Takes Neighbor's SUV, Police Say
The man entered the home, took the car keys and stole a 2003 Dodge Durango, Hazelwood Police said.
A man snuck into a neighbor’s home on Hazelcrest Drive Dec. 10 and then stole an SUV belonging to the neighbor, Hazelwood Police said. Shawon Jones, 18, of the 7500 block of Hazelcrest Drive in Hazelwood, was charged Wednesday with first-degree burglary and stealing a vehicle. Hazelwood Police said Jones entered a neighbor’s home, also in the 7500 block of Hazelcrest and took the car keys while the owner was in the house. He then stole the neighbor’s 2003 Dodge Durango SUV, polic said. Jones was being held in St. Louis County jail on Friday. Bail was set at $60,000, cash only.
