UPDATE: North County Businesses Closed, Shutting Down Early for Weather

With inclement winter weather on the way, several area businesses have closed up shop early.

Update as of 2:30 pm With inclement weather in the forecast, many North County businesses have decided to take their own snow day by shutting down early or not even opening. Florissant businesses were taking to social media and the Internet early Thursday morning to notify customers of closures. Mario’s Pizza announced on its Facebook page that they would be closed for the day as well as Plato’s Closet, Andrea's Boutique and BigFoot 4x4 Inc. de.lish Cheesecake Bakery and Café announced they would be open for lunch and would shut down at 2:30. The St. Louis Louis County Library announced all branches, including Florissant Valley, Jamestown Bluffs and Prairie Commons, would close at noon. St. Louis Community Credit Union closes at 11 a.m. …

North County Inc. Cancels Legislative Reception Due to Winter Weather

The organization has not yet decided whether to reschedule the annual event.

North County Incorporated Regional Development Association has cancelled its annual Legislative Reception due to the predicted bad winter weather Thursday. Director of Marketing and Membership Venus Martz confirmed via email to Patch Tuesday afternoon that the event had been cancelled. She said she’s not sure if it would be rescheduled. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch from Thursday morning through Thursday evening with up to six inches of snow possible and up to two-tenths of ice.
