Last Chance: Deadline for St. Louis County Real Estate, Property Taxes
Hazelwood residents must have their payments submitted by Dec. 31.
Time is winding down for residents to submit their payments for 2011 real estate and personal property taxes. Missouri state law requires real property and personal property taxes to be paid by Dec. 31, 2012. This means taxes must be paid and or postmarked to St. Louis County Collector of Revenue by Dec. 31 to avoid interest and penalties accrued on it. Delinquent payments are subject to late charges of 2 percent interest per month, or any portion thereof, with a maximum of 18 percent per year, plus a 2 percent penalty. Revenue offices at the County’s three satellite locations are open from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.; the Clayton office opens at 7 a.m. and closes at 5:30 p.m. Residents have a number of ways to pay for their taxes, too.
