Man Indicted for Shooting in Hazelwood Last July
Hazelwood Police said Phillip Monroe also fired four shotgun blasts into a Hazelood home in September.
A man was indicted by a St. Louis County grand jury on several charges related to a July 16 shooting in Hazelwood. Phillip Monroe, 18, of the 6800 block of Waterleigh Avenue in Berkeley, was indicted Jan. 30 on first-degree assault, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, and tampering with evidence charges. Hazelwood Police said that Monroe, acting with Howard W. Rogers III, shot a .40 cal pistol at another man in the 200 block of Manning Avenue in Hazelwood at 10:23 p.m. July 16. According to court documents, police believe Rogers did the shooting in the July 16 incident. The bullet grazed the man’s leg. Police said Monroe or Rogers fired more shots into the man’s residence.
