Hazelwood Police Are Taking the Polar Plunge

HPD's team will join hundreds jumping into snowy and icy water at Creve Coeur Lake for the 2013 Polar Plunge benefiting the Special Olympics of Missouri,

The Hazelwood Police Department will be amongst roughly 800 people diving into Creve Coeur Lake for the annual Polar Plunge on Saturday. Thursday's snow will make the event feel more like the polar element of which it's named, and that more meaningful for the Special Olympics of Missouri, which will benefit from the event. The 2013 Polar Plunge is the seventh year of the event and HPD has a team of 14 people that will be jumping in. The Creve Coeur Lake Polar Plunge is the the second plunge held in the St. Louis area. One was held in Wentzville earlier in the month. HPD has already raised $5,680 for the event which begins Saturday at 2 p.m. People bold enough to brave the cold temperatures will be able to do on-site registration starting …

Hazelwood West Students Take the 'Polar Plunge'

The Wildcats will cool out while raising funds to help the Special Olympics of Missouri. Thus far Hazelwood West has raised more than $4,500.

Hazelwood School District high school students have decided to dive into the deep end of helping charity – literally. Students and staff of Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood West and other area schools will take part in the 2012 Polar Plunge in Creve Coeur Lake for Special Olympics of Missouri Saturday. Registration for the event starts at noon and the plunge starts at 2 p.m. Ten students and staff from Hazelwood Central will be diving in to raise money for the Special Olympics. It’s a part of the official charity of student councils in the state, according to a press release.
