Hazelwood Man Surrenders After Standoff with Police, Accused of Firing Assault Rifle at Ex-Girlfriend
A Hazelwood Police Department officer was investigating an unrelated call and heard a single gunshot nearby Sunday afternoon.
A Hazelwood man is in custody following a standoff with the Hazelwood Police Department (HPD) on Sunday. Rashidi Greer, 21, was arrested and charged with domestic assault, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia. The charges stem from a domestic shooting, according to HPD. Police say an officer was investigating an unrelated call near the 8400 block of Latty Avenue when he heard a single gunshot ring out around 12:15 p.m. At the same time, a woman called the police saying Greer, her former boyfriend, fired an assault rifle at her during a domestic disturbance.
