Help MoDOT Clean Hazelwood Saturday During the No MOre Trash! Bash

The Missouri Department of Transportation and area residents are picking up trash on Lindbergh Boulevard. Meet at the Village Square Shopping Center parking lot at 9 a.m.

Is there a better way to spend your Saturday morning that by cleaning up your community? Don't answer that question! Instead head out on Saturday to Lindbergh Boulevard and be a part of the 'No MOre Trash! Bash'. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) and area residents are cleaning the street Saturday as part of its month-long initiative. The event will begin on the Village Square Shopping Center parking at 9 a.m. The goal of the annual No MOre Trash! Bash is to spread awareness of Missouri's litter problem on the ground and in water, and work toward making it a litter-free state. MoDOT and the Missouri Department of Conservation sponsor the event each year. Last April, volunteers statewide picked up more than 130,000 bags of …

The meeting scheduled for April 4 at James J. Eagan Community Center in Florissant is canceled.

4-3-12 Update: The meeting scheduled for April 4 at  James J. Eagan Community Center in Florissant is canceled. ---------------- The legal teams working three lawsuits regarding Coldwater Creek contamination and the health impacts on North County residents, will be hosting two town hall-style meetings next week. The meetings are an effort to inform the public on the proceedings, and to let those who feel living, playing or working near the creek negatively impacted their  helath have options.  The meetings are slated for Wednesday and Thursday in Hazelwood and Florissant, respectively.  Each is a public meeting and is open to all residents. Report: Coldwater Creek Not Linked to North St. Louis County Cancers

The state health department has been studying the incidence and death rates of cancer in North County zip codes adjacent to the creek. They say increased risk of cancer from nuclear contamination is unlikely.

Cancer incidents in North St. Louis County are not linked to Coldwater Creek. That's what a report the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services released today says. State Health Department Investigation Last month, Patch told you the state would be analyzing cancer clusters in North County as the result of local concern of increased risk due to nuclear contamination. Gena Terlizzi with DHSS's Office of Public Information said local residents asked the department to look at instances. She also said the report only looks at Coldwater Creek and not any of the several dump sites that were in the area. The State epidemiologists studied the incidence and death rates of 27 types of cancer in five zip codes adjacent to the creek including…

Indulge in NoCo's Best Eats at Taste of North County Saturday

Twelve restaurants will serve up cuisine, while 40 vendors present in the annual business showcase.

Saturday, North County residents unite for a chance to sample a little bit of what makes this part of St. Louis County so special. The City of Florissant and Greater North County Chamber of Commerce have teamed up to present “Taste of North County.” The two will also host a business showcase. More than 40 vendors will be on display at the showcase to present their businesses and products, including AAA Travel, Curves, Eagle Fitness, Emerson Family YMCA and Vantage Credit Union. This will be the first year for the “Taste of North County,” which will feature 12 area restaurants and their cuisine such as DeLeo’s, Pirrone’s, the Rice House and Helfer’s.
