An organized movement of strikes began in St. Louis and is spreading across the region. Employees at McDonald's in North St. Louis County, and Jimmy John's took to the picket lines Wednesday. Employees at 20 fast food locations will strike Thursday.
People peacefully gathered and marched in front of a Ferguson McDonald's Restaurant today. You could hear the group of about 100 chanting during the strike," We started from the bottom and now we're here; $7.35 just ain't fair." There was also, "We want change and we ain't talking about pennies." As well, a whole host of additional songs. But for all the people smiling, the subject at hand was serious. The crowd gathered as part of a movement to unionize fast food restaurants throughout the St. Louis Region. Employees at the Ferguson McDonald's, located at 9131 W. Kenneth L. Roberts Jr, was found guilty of two counts of forcible sodomy, two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of armed criminal action and felonious restraint.
A North County man received 110 years in prison for forcibly sodomizing two women and hitting one of them in the head with a bottle. St. Louis Circuit Court Judge Mark D. Seigel sentenced Kenneth L. Roberts Jr, 24, to 15 years each on one count of forcible sodomy, armed criminal action and two counts of first-degree assault. He also sentenced Roberts to 25 years for a second forcible sodomy charge, 20 years on the second armed criminal action charge and five years for felonious restraint. A man implied he had a weapon and robbed the U.S Bank at 11000 Larimore Road in north St. Louis County on Friday at about 12:50 p.m.
St. Louis County Police are looking for a man that walked into the U.S. Bank, located at 11000 Larimore Road in unincorporated North County on Friday and robbed it. According to police, the man entered the bank around 12:50 p.m. Officers responded to the bank's alarm system. A man walked up to a teller and implied he had a weapon. He ran from the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to police. No injuries occurred during the incident. Sapp will headline the concert in collaboration with the American Heart and American Stroke associations, to raise awareness about the risk factors associated with a stroke.
The American Heart and American Stroke associations are bringing Pastor Marvin Sapp, popular American Gospel music singer-songwriter, to St. Louis on April 12 for an evening of inspiration at the Most Powerful Voices Concert and Health Fair. The free concert and health event will take place at Greater Grace Church located at 3690 Pershall Road in Ferguson. The purpose of the event is to educate the community about the risk factors associated with having a stroke. The health fair will begin at 4:30 p.m. and features health screenings, give-a-ways and CPR demos.
