There needs to be signs posted at the Eager Rd (left lane for Eager Rd EAST / middle lane Target Promenade & Eager Rd EAST / right lane Eager Rd WEST) at the exit heading South from 170. There are two lanes but everyone exits on the right lane onto Eager and cuts everyone off in the left lane to go EAST on Eager. The signs should be hung along the side of the 40 West overpass. Thank you!   more ›

Help MoDOT Clean Hazelwood Saturday During the No MOre Trash! Bash

The Missouri Department of Transportation and area residents are picking up trash on Lindbergh Boulevard. Meet at the Village Square Shopping Center parking lot at 9 a.m.

Is there a better way to spend your Saturday morning that by cleaning up your community? Don't answer that question! Instead head out on Saturday to Lindbergh Boulevard and be a part of the 'No MOre Trash! Bash'. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) and area residents are cleaning the street Saturday as part of its month-long initiative. The event will begin on the Village Square Shopping Center parking at 9 a.m. The goal of the annual No MOre Trash! Bash is to spread awareness of Missouri's litter problem on the ground and in water, and work toward making it a litter-free state. Hazelwood Looks to MoDOT to Help Beautify Lindbergh, Howdershell

The funds would come from the Missouri Department of Transportation's Surface Transportation Program, with a 20 percent match from the City of Hazelwood, and would only be for certain stretches of the roads.

The City of Hazelwood is going after two beautification grants to spiff up portions of Lindbergh Boulevard and Howdershell Road. The Hazelwood City Council approved a resolution that allows for a 80-20 match grant application. The Missouri Department of Transportation's Surface Transportation Program–Suballocated would fund 80 percent of each project; and the city would fund the remaining 20 percent. The grant for Lindbergh Boulevard entails installing trees and historic lights along corridor from Utz Lane to the southern city limits near Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. The application is for $1,094,992 with a 20 percent city match of $218,998, according to City Manager Edwin Carlstrom. The grant for Howdershell Road would include…

Hazelwood City Council heard first reading of a bill that would add three additional "No U-turn" intersections on its strip of Lindbergh. Hazelwood City Manager Edwin Carlstrom made the recommendation and said there is a need for the signs since the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) created a new intersection at the off-ramp of eastbound I-270 and North Lindbergh last year. "It's created an opportunity for U-turns North and South of that intersection so we are recommending council approve signs for those two places (both sides of the light)," he said. Carlstrom is also recommending "No U-…

I can't recall if there is or isn't a fine warning sign. You know how it is when you see something everyday. As far as I know the Keep Kids Alive Signs are permanent fixtures and don't come down. MO statute as well as Hazelwood's says any violator shall pay a fine at least double that set for such violation near those signs. You can read about it here: "http://z2codes.sullivanpublications.com/…   more ›
