Manufacturer Mead Johnson Nutrition said its records showed the lot tested negative for the bacterium before it was shipped. The action began when the Lebanon Wal-Mart pulled its stock of Enfamil Newborn formula after a 10-day-old baby died Sunday. The Lebanon Daily Record reports Avery Cornett's family took him to a local hospital when he showed signs of lethargy and stomach discomfort. According to the newspaper, tests showed Avery had contracted a rare bacteria which can be found in contaminated infant formula. If you've been in St. Louis for any amount of time, chances are you've heard of Amighetti's. Its original store on The Hill has been around since 1921, when Louis Amighetti, an Italian immigrant, opened the small bakery-turned sandwich shop. Many years later, Amighetti's expanded, creating two additional stores in Rock Hill and Hazelwood, Missouri. I spoke with Mary Ellen Downing, owner of the Hazelwood Amighetti's location, about the sandwich shop.
