Miss Hazelwood 2012 Has Been Crowned

We've got a new Miss Hazelwood! Want to know who won? Keep reading--and join us in congratulating the winner.

Six beautiful and accomplished young women, ages 15 to 19, competed for the chance to hold the Miss Hazelwood title Saturday at the Hazelwood Harvestfest. Each contestant is a Hazelwood resident, a requirement for Miss Hazelwood, and each was asked to answer a couple of questions during the coronation ceremony at Howdershell Park. Hazelwood's Own 'Royal Court' to Take Center Stage at Harvestfest

Six local high school students are vying for the Miss Hazelwood crown, to be awarded at the Hazelwood Harvestfest.

The City of Hazelwood has announced the six finalists in the Miss Hazelwood Pageant. Each of these young women will be participating in this year’s 2012 Miss Hazelwood Coronation ceremony, scheduled for Sat., Sept. 8, at 10:30 a.m. in Howdershell Park as part of Hazelwood’s Harvestfest event. And the New Miss Hazelwood is...

Hazelwood Patch was on-hand as the 2011 Miss Hazelwood was crowned.

A large crowd braved the rain drops to watch the New 2011 Miss Hazelwood receive her crown at the coronation during Hazelwood Harvestfest Saturday. And who won the crown? Samantha Rieke. Nikki Napolitano, 2010 Miss Hazelwood, was escorted by her best friend Austin Davis. She crowned Rieke whose escort was her father Michael Dodson. Hazelwood Harvestfest

A Taste of Hazelwood Harvestfest

"Hazelwood Patch" gives you a quick taste of Saturday's event, which went off without a hitch, despite the rain.

The rain didn't dampen the spirits of the hundreds of Hazelwood residents who attended Hazelwood Harvestfest Saturday. Local families and friends gathered at Hazelwood's Howdershell Park to participate in a full day of family-friendly activities at the annual event. "We always enjoy this event," said Randy McDaniel, Florissant Valley Kiwanis Club treasurer and secretary. "Unfortunately, the weather is not what it should be, and the crowd is pretty thin." The Kiwanis Club sold sodas and snacks, along with several other local organizations that set up booths at the event. McDaniel said that the event wasn't as busy as it has been in previous years, but that any proceeds collected would be donated to Kiwanis Club charities to help area kids. …

Hazelwood Harvestfest Parade Delights

Hazelwood residents enjoy music, dance and candy as Harvestfest begins

Hazelwood Harvestfest kicked off on Saturday with a parade. Residents gathered around the neighborhood to see performers from L.A. Dance Center, Hazelwood West High School's Marching Wildcats, contestants from the Miss Hazelwood competition, the John Ford Highland Pipe Band and more. The parade route started behind Hazelwood City Hall, and  followed Elm Grove, Town and Country, Holiday, Imperial, and Village Square drives. Hazelwood Harvestfest events began immediately after the parade finished at Howdershell Park.  With everything from a petting zoo, to the Miss Hazelwood Coronation, there were a plethora of things to do around the area.

Meet the Miss Hazelwood Candidates

In part two of this feature Hazelwood Patch is introducing you to the candidates vying for the 2011 Miss Hazelwood crown. Meet the final three candidates.

Hazelwood Harvestfest will take place Saturday at Howdershell Park. What would a festival be without a leading lady? The Miss Hazelwood Coronation will occur at 10:30 a.m. The reigning 2010 Miss Hazelwood Nikki Napolitano will host this year’s coronation ceremony on the stage of the St. Louis County Bandwagon located by the tennis courts. Below are the final three ladies that are part of the 2011 Miss Hazelwood Court, and up for the role of Miss Hazelwood.
