Influenza on the Rise, Get a Flu Shot in Hazelwood

Gunn was imparting in a September news release, as her department prepared for the next flu season. That time is upon us and a new warning Wednesday was released about a big spike in flu cases in St. Louis and St. Charles counties: 50 new cases in four days in St. Charles County; 210 in a week in St. Louis County. More than 200,000 people are hospitalized every year due to flu-related complications and around 36,000 of them die, according to the health department website.
