Students Dine on History

Hazelwood West Middle School hosts a spaghetti dinner to honor local veterans.

Three generations of Moore men went back to school on Veterans Day  for dinner honoring veterans at Hazelwood West Middle School. Eighth-grader Tylor Moore, attended the event with his father, Kevin Moore, who served in the Marine Reserves from '89 to '97, and grandfather, Michael Moore.  The elder Moore served in the Navy for 33 years, and has the memories to go along with it.  "Getting shot at," he said with a chuckle. "And Vietnam's of 1968." The gymnasium at Hazelwood West Middle School was decked out in red, white, and blue, as students eagerly awaited the arrival of about 40 local veterans. Colorful balloons adorned each table, and special homemade cards were at each place setting, filled with words of gratitude from students.
