California Grill: A Little Shop With Lots of Options

The tiny eatery offers a large selection of items for eat-in or takeout.

California Grill's bright red lettering is easily spotted while driving along North Lindbergh Boulevard in Hazelwood. However, aside from the huge font, the large nondescript building doesn't look like much from the outside. Stepping inside the business tells an entirely different story. California Grill is certainly small; the seating area features four tables and eight chairs tightly packed together. And it's clearly a place primarily designed for takeout orders. However, the smell of freshly grilled meats and vegetables wafting through the air of the restaurant is hard to resist.    California Grill got its start in the City of Hazelwood in July of 2010. Restaurant Inspections: Follow-up Reports on Two Hazelwood Restaurants Are Grade "A"

Aftershock Sports Bar and Grill and Classics Bar and Grill both received "A" grades on their follow-up inspections, but Classics will receive a notice of violation.

We’re changing up our restaurant inspections a tad bit. We've expanded our inspections to surrounding areas, including Creve Coeur, Maryland Heights and Hazelwood.  Each week, Florissant Patch publishes information from the local restaurant inspections of St. Louis County Department of Health as well as their grade. Complaints of a 'Beyond Gross' Play Area at Hazelwood McDonald's Prompt DOH Inspection

The St. Louis County Department of Health followed up on complaints on McDonald's and another Hazelwood restaurant and gave both establishments an 'A.'

Each week, Hazelwood Patch teams up with neighboring Patch sites to share information from the local restaurant inspections of St. Louis County Department of Health, as well as the department's grade for each establishment. Here are the latest restaurant inspections for the past 90 days: McDonald’s Address: 7300 N. Lindbergh Blvd., Hazelwood Date of Inspection: July 18 Type of Inspection: Complaint Risk Factor: 2 Grade: 100-A Comments: Someone reported that the restaurant’s play area is “beyond gross,” according to the report. Inspector followed up with manager who said that the areas are cleaned as often as possible. Upon inspector’s visit, he saw food debris on tables and floor but it was cleaned by employees.
