Two Brothers Arrested for Fighting Staff at a Lindbergh Business

Traffic Ahead: An Accident on North Lindbergh at McDonnell Slows Traffic in Hazelwood Monday

The Missouri Department of Transportation reports St. Louis work zones for November 8 -14.

Local Traffic: A wreck Monday afternoon caused backup at North Lindbergh Boulevard at  James S. McDonnell. The accident occurred at about 3 p.m. according to onlookers at the scene. The Hazelwood Fire Department and the Hazelwood Police Department both responded. Two vehicles were involved. Thanks to Sam Sanders for submitting the photos! Traffic Ahead: The Missouri Department of Transportation will be working on the section of the double deck just over I-55 and the depressed lanes of I-70 downtown. While crews are working on the roadway above, drivers on I-55 heading to I-70 may be detoured onto Memorial Drive and back to the interstate for safety. The ramps from Forest Park Avenue and Pine Street to eastbound I-64 are closed around the …

The Great Job Hunt: Underemployed Workers Struggling as Job Growth Lags

With national numbers showing only 54,000 new jobs created in May, North St. Louis County residents react to the lagging employment situation on the eve of a major local job fair.

When she had trouble finding a job in 2004, Melina Collison decided to go back to school to get her degree. She successfully attained both an associate’s degree in psychology and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, but Collison said she has not been able to secure a job in her field. “I could not find a job for two years after I graduated,” Collison said. “I applied everywhere that those degrees were applicable and was actually hired on with the State of Missouri twice, once for juvenile probation and parole and another time for adult probation and parole.” But Collison said that although she received a letter from the state telling her where and when she would begin work in both cases, each time she later received a phone call saying…
