Robbers Stick Up Hazelwood Man, Police Say

Police located the car used and found the men in a nearby apartment along with the stolen property and a handgun, according to a court document.

Two men are accused of robbing a man at gunpoint Friday in Hazelwood. Michael Davenport, 20, of the 4300 block of West Belle Avenue in St. Louis, and Bryan Knox, 18, of the 11500 bock of Rock Hampton Drive in Spanish Lake, were charged Friday with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action. Hazelwood Police said the two men got out of a car near the intersection of Cortena Drive and Utz Lane in Hazelwood at about 12:03 a.m. Friday. The man told police Davenport walked up to him and pointed a handgun at him. Another man came up behind him and took his cell phone and wallet, the man said. Would-Be Robber Puts Gun to Person's Head for Money, Police Say

Tyree Valdez and another person attempted to rob a person at North Hanley Drive and Santa Bella Drive, according to the Hazelwood Police Department.

A man is accused of holding a gun to a person’s head Saturday in the City of Hazelwood and demanding money. Tyree Valdez, 26, of the 2700 block of Mullanphy Lane in Florissant, was charged Monday with first-degree attempted robbery and armed criminal action. The Hazelwood Police Department said Valdez, acting with another, put a gun to a person’s head and demanded money at 10:10 p.m. Saturday on North Hanley Road at Santa Bella Drive. Police said when Valdez was arrested he had the handgun. Valdez is being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center. Bail was set at $100,000, cash only. (Get instant news updates. Man Indicted for Shooting in Hazelwood Last July

Hazelwood Police said Phillip Monroe also fired four shotgun blasts into a Hazelood home in September.

A man was indicted by a St. Louis County grand jury on several charges related to a July 16 shooting in Hazelwood. Phillip Monroe, 18, of the 6800 block of Waterleigh Avenue in Berkeley, was indicted Jan. 30 on first-degree assault, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, and tampering with evidence charges. Hazelwood Police said that Monroe, acting with Howard W. Rogers III, shot a .40 cal pistol at another man in the 200 block of Manning Avenue in Hazelwood at 10:23 p.m. July 16. According to court documents, police believe Rogers did the shooting in the July 16 incident. The bullet grazed the man’s leg. Police said Monroe or Rogers fired more shots into the man’s residence. Police said Monroe then hid the firearm from police …

Man Brings Gun into St. Louis Outlet Mall, Police Say

Hazelwood Police said officers found the concealed firearm on the man during a theft investigation.

A 17-year-old St. Louis man faces a criminal charge after he carried a concealed handgun into a store at St. Louis Outlet Mall Friday, police said. Vernel Latchison, 17, of the 2500 block of Warren Street in North St. Louis, was charged Saturday with unlawful use of a weapon. Hazelwood Police said Latchison was stopped and patted down during a theft investigation at St. Louis Outlet Mall. During a second pat-down, officers found Latchison had a .25 cal Brescia handgun in his jacket pocket, police said. Latchison was being held Wednesday in St. Louis County jail. Shotgun Wedding? Man Reveals Revolver After Stealing Diamond Ring in Hazelwood

Hazelwood Police say Antione Gathing went into a St. Louis Mills store and asked to see a wedding ring before running out of the store with the ring.

A man faces criminal charges after running out of a jewelry store at St. Louis Mills with a wedding ring. Antione Gathing, 33, of the 4000 block of Delmar in St. Louis, was charged Saturday with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action. Hazelwood Police said Gathing went into the store and asked to see a wedding ring. When he was handed the ring, he turned and ran out of the store. When a security guard attempted to stop him in the parking lot, Gather turned and raised his shirt to reveal a revolver in his waistband. The guard backed off. Hazelwood Teen Shoots Man, Fires Several Shots into Local Home

The bullet grazed the victim's leg and he escaped serious injury, police said.

A Hazelwod teenager was charged with shooting a man and firing several shots into a local home at about 10:23 p.m. on Monday in the 200 block of Manning Avenue. Howard W. Rogers III, 18, of the 100 block of Williams Boulevard in Hazelwood, was charged Wednesday with first degree-assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. Hazelwood Police said Rogers shot a .40 caliber pistol at a man, grazing his left leg. The man fled into a house and Rogers fired several more shots into the residence, police said in a report. Man Arrested For Threatening Victims with Gun at Hazelwood Hotel

The suspect pointed gun at two different people on two consecutive days outside the same hotel.

A Florissant man was arrested after pointing a handgun at people on two consecutive days outside the StudioPlus Deluxe Studios, an extended stay hotel at 155 Chapel Ridge Road in Hazelwood. Kevin Ford, 43, of the 2600 block of Sorrell Drive in Florissant, was charged Tuesday with two counts of unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon and resisting arrest. Hazelwood Police said in a report that Ford pointed a handgun at the first victim at about 9 p.m. Sunday outside the hotel. At about 8 p.m. Monday, he pointed a loaded a .38 cal Smith and Wesson revolver at a second person. Ford has two other felony convictions and is barred from possessing a gun, police said.
