Police: Drunk Driver Crashes Into Car, Injures Motorist on Lindbergh at Missouri Bottom Road

Thomas Gasperoni ran the red light causing the collision. Bridgeton Police said the other driver sustained a concussion and broken collarbone, along with three broken ribs.

A man faces assault charges after police said he ran a red light, crashing into another car and injuring the driver. Bridgeton Police said Thomas Gasperoni, 31, of the 600 block of Meadowgrass in Florissant was driving while intoxicated. The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Gasperoni on March 5 with second-degree assault. Bridgeton Police said witnesses saw Gasperoni driving  at a high rate of speed Nov. 27 when he ran a red light at N. Lindbergh Boulevard and Missouri Bottom Road, crashing into another car. The other driver sustained a concussion, a broken collarbone, three broken ribs and cuts and bruises. Gasperoni’s blood was drawn at the hospital following the crash. Car Smashes Through Hazelwood Home, Leaves Family Displaced

The Hazelwood Police Department said the incident is still under investigation as a possible DUI.

What Coletta Lloyd didn't expect to find on November 2 upon returning home was a car parked in her living room, but it's surely what happened. "My daughter gets off from work at 11 p.m., so I'd just left to pick her up," Lloyd said. "It happened 10 minutes after I left the house. "Thank God we were not at home at the time." Lloyd said a neighbor called and told her what happened just as she was on the way home. A vehicle plowed its way into her condominium in the 7600 block of Hazelcrest Drive in Hazelwood and was resting in her living room. "We were only able to grab a small amount of clothes at the time of the incident," Lloyd said. "Two weeks later I was allowed in to get us some winter clothes."
