The 47-year-old Berkeley man allegedly assaulted his girlfriend in Hazelwood on June 14.
A Berkeley man was charged Thursday with second-degree assault in St. Louis County Circuit Court. Hazelwood Police said that Elon J. Perry, 47, punched his girlfriend several times in the face June 14 in the 300 block of Chalmette Drive in Hazelwood. Perry lives in the 6600 block of Thurston in Berkeley. A Hazelwood woman was charged with stabbing her husband in the face and back Sunday in the 300 block of Chalmette Drive. Ella D. Smith, 59, faces second-degree domestic assault charges after her husband told police she stabbed him. He had cuts on his face, eye, tongue and had a puncture wound on his back, according to a Hazelwood Police report. A witness told police he saw Smith strike her husband in the face. Bond was set at $25,000. Smith was in St. Louis County jail on Tuesday.
