Boeing to Partner with Embraer to Make Transport Plane

Boeing and Brazilian plane maker Embraer SA plan to work together to develop a KC-390 transport plane. Boeing's Defense, Space and Security division in Hazelwood already produces a similar transport plane.

Boeing and Brazilian plane maker Embraer SA plan to work together to develop a KC-390 transport plane. The companies will exchange technical and market information as part of the agreement, and they may team up for commercial opportunities, according to The Wall Street Journal. Boeing already produces the C-17 transport plane, which carries heavier loads than the KC-390 at the Boeing Defense, Space & Security segment, based in Hazelwood. Boeing also produces the F-18, one of three planes the Brazilian government is considering buying as it renovates its air force, the article reports.
