Three Inducted Into Hazelwood West's Hall of Fame, Including NY Yankee David Phelps
Phelps and two other Hazelwood West High sports legends, track and volleyball star Linda (Ferder) Howard and standout wrestler Daniel Callahan were honored on Sept. 22.
Three new members were inducted into the Hazelwood West High School athletics department’s Hall of Fame on Sept. 22, marking the second annual induction for the school. This year’s class includes Daniel Callahan, class of 1991; Linda (Ferder) Howard, class of 1979 and New York Yankees pitcher, David Phelps, class of 2005. Honorees are chosen based on the contributions they made during their time at West as well as the recognition they bring to the school and the community, the district said in a press release. The Hall of Fame committee said that the current members have laid the foundation and set the standards to which current students aspire.
