Hazelwood Teen Kicks In Door While Owner is Home

The suspect was going after money he believed was inside the home, but fled when he saw the homeowner, Hazelwood Police said.

A man kicked in a door in the 100 block of Cady Drive in Hazelwood Oct. 9 while the resident was home, according to a police report. Hazelwood Police said that Anthony Buddeke, 17, of the 100 block of Reasor Avenue in Hazelwood, broke into the home at about 12:09 Oct. 9. The resident confronted him and he fled. Buddeke told police that he was after money he believed the victim had in the house. He was charged Wednesday with first-degree burglary. Hazelwood Man Stole TVs, Wedding Ring from Neighbor, Police Say

The man was charged with burglary and stealing in two 2011 incidents.

A Hazelwood man faces criminal charges after police said he broke into a home twice last year and stole items from a neighbor. Rodney Williams, 34, of the 7200 block of Hazelcrest Drive in Hazelwood, was charged Friday with second-degree burglary and felony stealing. Hazelwood Police said Williams entered another home in the 7200 block of Hazelcrest on June 25 and June 30, 2011, stealing two televisions and a gold wedding band. a total value estimated at $1,000. Hazelwood Man Fabricates Robbery, Breaks Into Suspects’ House While They’re Detained

A resident returned home to find him driving away from the residence, the back door pried open and a computer missing, Hazelwood Police said.

A Hazelwood man who accused people on his street of robbing him turned the tables and broke into their home Tuesday while they were talking to police, Hazelwood Police reported. The man later admitted to police making up the robbery story, according to a police report. Sidney Brown, 22, of the 500 block of Lynn Haven in Hazelwood, was charged Tuesday with second-degree burglary. Broken Window Leads Witnesses, Police to Burglary Suspect

Witnesses saw three men fleeing the scene and police found DNA that led them to a man now charged with the crime.

A breaking window alerted Hazelwood residents to an attempted burglary and helped lead police to at least one suspect. Clifford Jones, 19, of the 100 block of Montieth Circle in Riverview, was charged Thursday with second-degree attempted burglary. Hazelwood Police said Jones and two others broke a window in a home in the 5200 block of Ville Angela Lane at about 9 p.m. April 20. They put a jacket over the broken glass. Police said witnesses identified Jones as one of three men seen leaving the home. Jones also was identified by DNA found at the crime scene. Bond was set at $10,000. Stolen Van Needed Gas, Tires A Ferguson man is facing criminal charges for stealing a van that not only needed gas, but apparently tires as well. He also was charged with stealing eight tires from Dobbs Tire and Auto. Florissant Police said the man stole a 1994 GMC conversion van from a Johnny Londoff Chevrolet lot sometime between July 29 and Aug. 1. The van belonged to an employee at the car dealership. Police said man also broke into Dobbs Tire and Auto, and stole eight tires valued at $1,593. He was identified through surveillance tapes at Dobbs and at a Quik Trip gas station where he bought gas for the van, according to court documents. Woman Exiting Shower Finds Burglars in Apartment, Police Say

Three people fled after the resident discovered them, but were arrested later, Hazelwood Police said.

A Hazelwood woman got out of the shower Sept. 1 to find three people in her apartment, holding her possessions. Three people were charged Wesdnesday and Thursday with first-degree burglary and misdemeanor stealing in the break-in: Hazelwood Police said the Clark, Vasser and Young entered the apartment in the 5300 block of Knollwood Parkway Court in Hazelwood at about 4:50 p.m. and stole DVD movies, purses and other items. When the victim came out of the shower, the three ran out of the apartment, police said. Bond was set at $50,000 each for Clark, Vasser and Young.
