The Hazelwood School District (HSD) Board of Education will convene Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., to discuss district business. The board will hear a quarterly update report regarding the district's supplier diversity program. The last update, given in early February, included stats through Dec. 31, 2012, on minority and women supplier participation as it pertains to bid contracts awarded within the district. The Board of Education will vote on approving an updated school calendar for the year that reflects inclement weather days the district did not have to use, at Tuesday's meeting.
The Hazelwood School District (HSD) Board of Education will convene Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., to discuss district business. Even with recent inclement weather, the board will have to adjust the school year calendar it set to reflect the amount of days missed. There are "snow days" built into the calendar and school was originally set to end on May 31. Diana Gulotta, assistant superintendent for communications said the last day of school will now be May 29, pending the board's approval. "Today (Monday) is our third snow day," she said. Since the discovery, an average 5 percent raise was allotted for teachers and other employees in the district. At Tuesday's board of education meeting, district track members are honored for state championship titles and the board votes on a new purchasing method.
The Hazelwood Central High School boys and girls track teams will be honored for their accomplishments during the spring season at Tuesday's Hazelwood School District (HSD) Board of Education meeting. When HSD is short 9 million will the teachers give back the 5% raise or will they remind us they have a contract. I think the logical choice would he been to refund the surplus to the tax payers. more ›
