Four Hazelwood School District employees will receive awards sponsored by North County Incorporated, Regional Development Association (NCI), in partnership with Community News and Gateway Television News Network.
Four Hazelwood School District employees will be honored at a September reception for their remarkable contributions to both their professions and their communities. Each was among those who will receive NCI Salutes 30 Leaders in their Thirties Leadership Awards. The award recipients from the district include Elena Amirault, Nyron Edwards, Andrew Harris and Jennifer Roper, Ed.D. “North County has some amazingly talented young business, civic and community leaders who are excelling in their professions, as well as volunteering for area civic and charitable organizations,” said Rebecca Zoll, President/CEO of NCI. “Through their work and volunteerism they are making a positive difference in our community. North County Incorporated continues to seek nominations for 30 Leaders in Their Thirties. “The 2012 NCI Salutes 30 Leaders in their Thirties campaign will recognize leaders who are making a significant positive impact on North County through their profession and/or community involvement and are in their thirties,” according to the organization’s announcement. Those selected will be honored at the organization’s ceremony, Sept. 21 at Norwood Hills Country Club. You've still got time to nominate your friends, family members or colleages. Kudos come from near and far.
For the Hazelwood Police Department (HPD) and Chief Carl Wolf, service is all in a day's work. Now that work is earning recognition, especially in the area of youth and domestic violence. "We're an award-winning police department," Wolf said jokingly. "I like to be first and tops on every thing we do." Wolf received the 2010 Corrigan-Wiesman Partnership Award from the St. Louis County Juvenile Justice Association, (SLCJJA), for his role in developing the Hazelwood Youth Leadership Academy. On Nov. 17, he accepted the award on behalf of his entire staff, volunteers and the community partners. "The vision was there.
