Tools, Motorcycle Stolen While Owner is in Jail An air compressor, generator and Honda motorcycle were among the items stolen from the home of an Imperial man who was locked up in jail when it happened. The thefts reportedly occurred between Sept. 8-10 on Meadow Drive in Imperial. A burglar broke into an unlocked storage building and also nabbed some tools. A burglar kicked in a garage door and broke into a home Sept. 12 in Imperial and ransacked the homeowner's sock drawer, finding $150 in cash. A man faces criminal charges after Hazelwood Police said he seriously injured a 2-year-old in his care by lacerating the child’s liver. Joshua Riley, 26, of the 1500 block of Nesbit in Ferguson, was charged Aug. 28 with second-degree assault and endangering a child. Hazelwood Police said the child suffered a linear laceration through nearly his entire liver, bruises on his face, and an injury to the back of his scalp. A witness told Hazelwood Police that Riley ran out of his room March 20 at the La Quinta Inn in Hazelwood holding the child, who was unresponsive. The witness said Riley told him not to call an ambulance. The witness took the child from Riley and called for help. Police said two other children in the room told the witness …
