Eberlin served as Hazelwood Ward 6 Councilwoman for 28 years. She died Tuesday at 85.
Jeanette Eberlin always spoke highly of her city and her residents. As a journalist and speech writer, she had a way with words. She died Tuesday at the age of 85; however, her legacy lives on. Eberlin served as the City of Hazelwood's Ward 6 Councilwoman for 28 years. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends," said Carolyn Marty, president of the Greater North County Chamber of Commerce, in an email to chamber members. Eberlin was a widow, mother and grandmother. She also remained active on Hazelwood's Planning and Zoning Commission and helped with bringing St. Louis Mills to Hazelwood. Staci Dawn Reddan dies unexpectedly at her home in O’Fallon, Missouri on April 4. She was daughter to Donna Earnest, longtime principal’s secretary at Hazelwood West High School.
Anyone that was a student at Hazelwood West High School throughout the past 20 years knows Donna Earnest. She has served as the head principal's secretary longer than most student's currently attending have been alive. Whether she's telling someone in the office to stop running or assisting a parent who looks lost upon entering the school's office area, she is one of the "Faces of West." Hazelwood West Alum, Staff Sgt. Matthew J. Johnston, died in his sleep on March 19. He was 28.
Staff Sgt. Matthew J. Johnston of the 8th Air Force’s 608th Air Communications Squadron died Mon., March 19, 2012 in his sleep. He was the beloved husband of Crystal M. Johnston, dear father of three-year-old Brayden Johnston and dear son of Steven (Linda) Johnston of Hazelwood, and Karen Johnston of Florissant. Johnston was also a brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin nephew and friend to many. There will be visitation on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m., at Hutchens Mortuary, 675 Graham Road in Florissant. There will also be a visitation on Tuesday from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at Hutchens as well. New president Robert Swank died Sunday afternoon from a heart attack.
Robert Swank has been a business leader in the Greater St. Louis area for some time serving communities all around the City of Hazelwood, from Ferguson, to Wentzville and beyond. After recently being hired as president of the Northwest Chamber of Commerce in November, Swank passed away Sunday of a heart attack. "It is with deep and great sorrow that I must inform you of the death of the NWCC President/CEO, Robert Swank," said Northwest Chamber of Commerce administrator Tina Herrmann in an email sent out to chamber members Monday evening.
