Students from and schools partake in the 12-week program known as Hazelwood's Youth Leadership Academy to trade in negative influences and behaviors for a new outlook on life.

The program is designed to help what are considered at-risk youth who may be having disciplinary problems at school and/or trouble related to minor law violations that involve the Juvenile Division of the Family Court.

"Some of these kids have not made the best decisions," said Carl Wolf at the 2010 class graduation. "The decisions they make affect themselves, their friends, family and the people around them, and that was the only thing we were trying to get them to see."
