Cardinals alumni players Scott Cooper and Kerry Robinson will coach the two teams. This is the second year for both coaching.

Cooper is a St. Louis native who played high school baseball for Pattonville, spent seven years in the major leagues, and was a member of the American League All-Star team in 1993 and 1994.

Robinson is also a St. Louis native. He was a 3-sport athlete for Hazelwood and played for the Tampa Bay Rays, and was a Cardinal from 2001-2003. He appeared in postseason play in 2001 and 2002.

Delta Dental of Missouri is a sponsor of the game along with the St. Louis Cardinals. Each All-Star player has signed a tobacco-free pledge, acknowledging they do not smoke or chew, and outlining their willingness to advocate no-smoking and no-chewing choices among Missouri's youth.

“We feel it is our social responsibility to help influence and inspire the youth in our community to establish healthy life habits early on,” said David Haynes, president and CEO of Delta Dental at the press conference. “Our mission is to improve oral and overall health, and tobacco use is a major driver of poor oral health.

"The all-star game will raise awareness of these lifestyle choices, and the proceeds will benefit some wonderful organizations that provide oral health education and free services for underserved children.”
