First Bank Helps Warm Up the Area with Blankets

First Bank employees set record with fundraising for EnergyCare.

employees are paying it forward and helping those in need this winter throughout the St. Louis area.

The employees recently donated almost $5,000 and 200 new electric blankets to EnergyCare, a non-profit organization located in St. Louis. According to a company statement, this is a record for money raised electric blankets donated.

“I cannot thank our employees enough for their generous donations,” said Ed Furman, First Bank Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer, in a statement.

Furman organized the employee effort with , matching employee funds.

“Their spirited, record-setting contributions will help keep many people warm this winter,” he said.

Since 1999, First Bank employees have donated a total of 1,369 blankets valued at more than $37,000.

EnergyCare provides energy-related services and information for the low-income elderly, ill, disabled and families with young children in St. Louis City and St. Louis County.
