Yankees' David Phelps Off Disabled List, Hazelwood Native Back in Bullpen

Hazelwood native and NY Yankees pitcher David Phelps is back in the bullpen.

After more than two months on the disabled list with a right forearm injury that began giving him trouble on July 4, Phelps was activated on Saturday.

Before his forearm began to wear he was the Yankees fifth starter, and had a 6-5 record with a 5.01 ERA in his 18 game appearances.

Just two weeks ago, Yankees manager Joe Girardi said he had no timeline for when Phelps would be ready to return. See: David Phelps No Closer to Resuming Yankees Role, says Joe Girardi
