North County Native Signs Contract With St. Louis Rams

Andre Martin was just three of 26 open tryout players offered a contract with the St. Louis Rams.

Andre Martin, a standout football player at McCluer High School, will sign a contract with the St. Louis Rams, according to a report in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Martin, A Ferguson-native who starred in three sports while at McCluer (football, basketball and track and field), was just three of 26 open tryout players offered a contract by the Rams, the Post-Dispatch report said. 

Martin actually had a choice to make, according to sports talk radio station in Fargo, ND—Martin is about to wrap up his senior year at North Dakota State University.

If Bison sprinter Andre Martin would have ran in the Summit League track championships over the weekend, he could've had a real shot at winning the league title. Instead the former Bison cornerback was attending St. Louis Rams rookie mini-camp. It looks like it was worth it ... Martin, who played one year with the Bison after transferring from Northern Iowa, had a team-high 6 pass-breakups to go with his interception in the national championship game.
