The National Hockey League and the National Hockey League Players' Association reached agreement on the framework of a new Collective Bargaining Agreement early Sunday morning, NHL.com reports.

The league did not announce the start date of the season or the number of games each team will play, the league said. Those details are expected later today or early next week.

The St. Louis Blues, who practice at the St. Louis Outlet Mall in Hazelwood, will begin training camp and be rushed into the season in the coming weeks.

From the St. Louis Post-Dispatch:

Although earlier reports suggested that training camp will open Jan. 12, and the regular season Jan. 19, the official start dates won't be announced until Sunday or even Monday. Also, while speculation has focused on a a 48-game season, the possibility of a 50-game season still exists.

Either way, players will be returning to their NHL cities and suiting up soon.
