Hazelwood West Boys Basketball Wins District Semifinal Over Parkway Central
Wildcats will play De Smet in championship final on Saturday.
The varsity boys basketball team advanced to the Class 5 District 5 championship game, thanks to a 64-56 district semifinal win on Wednesday night over Parkway Central High.
Senior guard and Lindenwood University recruit Darris Smith had a huge night for the Wildcats, scoring 30 points and knocking down five three-pointers to lead West to the win.
The Wildcats, who now own an 18-8 record on the season, are the district’s No. 2 seed and will take on top-seeded De Smet High (21-5) in Saturday’s championship game. Tipoff that evening, at De Smet, is 4 p.m.
