Hazelwood Patch Sports Needs You

User submissions and reader input requested with regard to things happening in and around Hazelwood.

As our readers begin to settle in and become more accustomed to the hyper-local news and sports provided by Hazelwood Patch, our sports department is set to start inviting more reader input with regard to things happening in and around Hazelwood.

Covering prep athletics, while on occasion a bit of a challenge due to the sheer number of events, comes much more easily. Schedules, names, the top teams–those things are not too difficult to find. And while we plan to continue to place a great deal of emphasis of local high schools we also recognize that not everyone has kids that play prep sports, and there is plenty more to cover.

From time to time, we'd like to feature a youth sports team–be that a baseball team, a football team, little league wrestling teams, hockey teams, or even a middle school intramural champion. And to do that, we're calling on you!

We know there's a lot going on out there, and the best way to keep us on our toes is to submit ideas. Those submissions can range beyond just team accomplishments, though. Is there a little gymnast in the family that just won his or her first trophy? Did someone just earn his or her first karate belt? Did someone score a game-winning goal or his a game-winning shot? Tell us!

Heck, we'll even take a look at your softball leagues, your sand volleyball teams, dart leagues–the list goes on and on. If it's happening in Hazelwood, we want to know about it.

Both team and individual submissions can be emailed in to Jeffrey.Stahlhut@patch.com. Just give us a few details as to what happened, when it happened, who was involved and your contact information. If your submission is selected we'll be in touch.

We're looking forward to hearing more about what's going on out there, and we're looking forward to telling the rest of Hazelwood what you're up to. Check out our Patch Sports-St. Louis (North of 40).
