Hazelwood Launching Youth Flag Football Program, Sept. 23 Registration Deadline

A pre-season information meeting for parents is scheduled for Mon., Aug. 26, at White Birch Bay Aquatic Center, 1186 Teson Road, starting at White Birch Bay.

The Hazelwood Parks and Recreation Division is launching a new NFL Flag Football Program for kids, ages 7-15.

A pre-season information meeting for parents is set for Monday, Aug. 26, at White Birch Bay Aquatic Center, located at 1186 Teson Rd.

The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. It will detail the program and what to expect for participating youth.

Registration for the league is open to residents and non-residents. The fees are $60 for residents and $70 for non-residents. The registration deadline is Sept. 23.

This will be a seven-week season; from Sept. 28 to Nov. 9. 

Each team will play at least five regular season games and a play-off round. All games will be played on Saturdays at Aubuchon Park, located at 1 Sunset Drive. Each game begins at 9:30 a.m.

Divisions

There will be three divisions for the following age groups: Ages 7-9; Ages 10-12; and Ages 13-15. Each team will have 6 to 10 players. Each team is responsible for its own practice schedules. Practice begins this week.
