The Hazelwood School District (HSD) is partnering with Republic Services for a community electronic waste recycling drive.
Residents are encouraged to drop off unwanted electronics for proper recycling a either of the district's two January events.
Items that can be recycled include anything with a plug or battery.
There is no charge to drop off items.
Events will occur on:
- Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 from 8 a.m. to noon at Hazelwood East Middle School
- Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 from 8 a.m. to noon at Armstrong Elementary School
“We are pleased to expand our already successful partnership with Republic Services,” said . “Although these are one-time events, the electronic waste recycling drive is just a continuation of HSD’s overall strategy to help reduce our carbon footprint.
"It is our goal to get staff, students, parents and the entire community engaged in the recycling process.”
HSD began housing recyling trash bins at all schools in 2011.
