HSD Hosting January Electronic Waste Recycling Drives

Armstrong Elementary School in Hazelwood will host a recycling event on Jan. 12.

The Hazelwood School District (HSD) is partnering with Republic Services for a community electronic waste recycling drive.

Residents are encouraged to drop off unwanted electronics for proper recycling a either of the district's two January events.

Items that can be recycled include anything with a plug or battery.

There is no charge to drop off items.

Events will occur on:

  • Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 from 8 a.m. to noon at Hazelwood East Middle School
  • Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 from 8 a.m. to noon at Armstrong Elementary School

“We are pleased to expand our already successful partnership with Republic Services,” said . “Although these are one-time events, the electronic waste recycling drive is just a continuation of HSD’s overall strategy to help reduce our carbon footprint.

HSD began housing recyling trash bins at all schools in 2011.
