Two male students reportedly attempted "sexual relations" with a female student in one of the school's bathrooms, according to an email sent out to parents today.

According to an email sent out to parents today, administration and the are dealing with a situation deemed as "attempted inappropriate sexual relations."

"In order to prevent the spread of misinformation and keep the lines of communication open, we want to provide you with information regarding a recent situation at West Middle School," the email stated. "Earlier this week, a female student reported that, toward the end of the day, in the lower cafeteria area, two male students attempted sexual relations with her in the boy’s bathroom."

The email states that the school administrators, in cooperation with the school resource officers, immediately began an investigation. After a thorough investigation, that included interviews with students throughout a two-day period, the email states the students directly involved in the sexual misconduct were removed from school premises.

Additionally, the email states that the Hazelwood Police Department is completing their own investigation.

If the allegations are confirmed, the discipline for students involved in this behavior includes one or more of the following:

  • Up to a 10-day out-of-school suspension
  • Discipline hearing
  • The possibility of suspension up to 180 days
  • Expulsion

"Your child’s safety is our first priority," the email states. "We will continue to work on a daily basis to ensure each child can learn in an environment that is safe and secure. Your continued support and cooperation is crucial and very much appreciated."

Stay with Hazelwood Patch as we follow the situation.

I wonder what our State Rep Margo McNeil thinks about this? You have people in control who are afraid to do the right thing. They are worried about being politically correct. Luckily, my kids are grown, and do not have to attend the Hazelwood Schools. I appreciate the good teachers who are trying to teach in these conditions. I hope you are near retirement. I have no faith in most of the parents of this district. People are more worried about " American Idol" and Reality T.V. then finding out what is happening in their school district, city and state.

They continue to down play the issue . We all know 4 boys were involved . Will they ever stop covering up and deal with the issue at hand? They have policies and rules in place and yet they dont follow them . To worried about the truth getting out . That parents will know what a dangerous uncaring place HWM . I wish I had not bought a house in the district thats for sure !!
