Hazelwood West High is Raking and Running Saturday

The annual community service project, benefiting St. Louis Area Foodbank, just might be heading to your neighborhood Saturday.

If you've been procrastinating about raking the leaves in your front yard to the curb, keep on until Saturday and you may find someone who is willing, knocking at your door. For a donation, of course.

More than 20 members of the Student Council will rake leaves in local neighborhoods during the fourth annual Rake n’ Run on Saturday.

From 10 a.m. to noon, students will rake yards on streets northeast of Howdershell Road and south of Lynn Haven Lane in Hazelwood. The annual community service project will support the Tackle Hunger Project.

Having your leaves raked is free of charge, but the council would appreciate contributions of non-perishable food items to be donated to the St. Louis Area Foodbank.

If you have any questions about Rake n’ Run, or to find out if student council members will be on your street, contact HWHS Student Council sponsors Katie Demski, physical education teacher, at 314-953-5883 or kdemski@hazelwoodschools.org or Vicki Schaeffer, science teacher, at 314- 953-7259 or vschaefr@hazelwoodschool.org
