Hazelwood Schools Staff Set to Play the Harlem Wizards Oct. 14

The Oct. 14 event is a Hazelwood School District PTA Council Scholarship fundraiser. The goal is to raise enough money for 100 scholarships worth $500.

Hazelwood School District (HSD) is taking on a group of professional basketball players, and it's all for the love of their students.

They will be a part of HSD's PTA Council Scholarship fundraiser. The Harlem Wizards will take on Team Hazelwood on October 14.

The Hazelwood School District PTA Council has a goal to raise funds for its scholarship program. Each year, the council raises enough funds to provide 100 graduating seniors with a $500 scholarship.

The fundraiser will take place on Monday, Oct. 14. The doors open at 6 p.m. The game begins at 7 p.m.

The event will take place in the Hazelwood Central Fieldhouse. 

The Harlem Wizards is considered an entertainment basketball team, so not only will students and their families enjoy seeing their teachers outside of the classroom, there will also be lots of basketball tricks and comedy.

HSD Superintendent Dr. Grayling Tobias will help referee the game.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the HSD scholarship fund.

Tickets may be purchased on-line at http://harlemwizards.com. You can also check with your child's school. Some offices are also selling tickets.

Pricing is as follows:
  • Children under 4 are free
  • Students: $6 advance |   $8 at door
  • Adults:  $10 advance | $15 at door
