Hazelwood School District Cancels ‘Spring Into Employment’ Job Fair

There will not be a job fair on Thursday at Hazelwood East Middle School.

The Hazelwood School District will not be hosting its “Spring into Employment” job fair on Thursday as originally planned.

Kimberly McKenzie, HSD community relations and communication specialist, sent out the cancellation announcement early Tuesday morning.

"There was limited participation," she said. " It will be revised for next year."

The district did host the first two sessions of the three part employment event on April 4 and April 18. The sessions taught job seekers about résumé building, applying for applications, how to interview for a job and job skills.

The event took place at Hazelwood East Middle School but McKenzie said next year will be a bit different.

"We are looking to change the location and make it an off-site event," she said.

The district provided child care for job seekers that attended each of the events. They were free and open to the public.
