Hazelwood School District Awards Small Contracts For Professional Development, Graduation Space

The contracts are less than $15,000 each.

The Hazelwood School District (HSD) Board of Education approved awarding a few small contracts at its February 5 meeting, along with a insurance brokerage resolution and an amendment to a contract for facility safety improvements.

Contracts were approved for Tom Schimmer and Heiemann for professional development for teachers and administrators.

Schimmer is recognized in the areas of assessment literacy, sound grading practices, educational leadership, and positive behavior interventions and supports.

Heiemann is a publisher of professional resources and a provider of educational services for teachers and educators from kindergarten through college.

HSD also approved a small contract for an agreement with the University of Missouri-St. Louis to rent a graduation facility for the upcoming district-wide graduation ceremonies.

Diana Gulotta, HSD's assistant superintendent for communications, said the district is also approved a corporate resolution related some changes made at one of its investment brokerage firms.

"We are currently using Comerica Securities as one of our investment brokerage firms," she said. "They recently have switched to a new custodian, from National Financial Service to Pershing LLC.

"They are updating their records and have requested new Corporate Resolution Certification and wire transfer information forms."

Gulotta also said the board approved an amendment to the Ameresco contract it has. which will result in data, fire alarm and rooftop retrofits/replacements at a number of elementary schools and at East Middle School.
