Harlem Wizards to Bring Basketball, Hilarious Comedy to Hazelwood on Saturday
The Hazelwood School District's PTA is bringing the entertainment basketball team to town this weekend for a fundraiser that will benefit the scholarship program and the gifted program. We've got details on the show and how you can get tickets
The Harlem Wizards are coming to Hazelwood, thanks to the Hazelwood School District’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA) scholarship and gifted education program’s fundraiser on Sunday, Sept. 23 at 2 p.m. in the Hazelwood Central Field House.
The Harlem Wizards are an entertainment basketball team who will put on a show featuring basketball talent combine with hilarious comedy. The event will be refereed by interim superintendent Dr. Grayling Tobias, and a group of district staff members will take on the Wizards for a fun-filled afternoon of basketball that’s perfect for families.
“This is a very important fundraising event for the HSD scholarship program,” the district said in a press release. “Last year, the PTA Scholarship Foundation gave 100 graduating seniors $500 scholarships, totaling $50,000.”

The PTA’s goal is to raise enough money to help fund the scholarship program, and all proceeds will be divided equally between the scholarship fund and the gifted education program.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for students if you buy them in advance. You can also get tickets at the door for $12 for adults and $8 for kids. Concessions will also be available for purchase.
