A New Principal Hired for Hazelwood West Middle School

Tony Brooks will be the new principal at Hazelwood West Middle School after more than 15 years in school districts including Cahokia, St. Louis Public Schools, and Riverview Gardens.

Last week from for a similar position in the Rockwood School District.

Less than a week after her last day, the has announced her replacement.

Tony Brooks will be the new principal West Middle effective immediately.

Brooks has 15 years of experience in education, most recently serving as an administrator at MacArthur High School in Decatur, Ill, according to an HSD statement.

Previously, he spent nine years in the Cahokia Unit School District, where he served a few positions including principal at the elementary level, and as an assistant principal and principal at the middle school level.  

Brooks was the principal at Linton College Prep Charter Academy in St. Louis and also taught for four years in the Riverview Gardens School District.  

He holds a degree in visual arts education from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. He has a master’s degree in educational leadership from Maryville University, as well as a specialist degree and a doctorate in educational administration from Lindenwood University.
