Weekend Highway Construction in Hazelwood

After a stall last week due to rain, MoDOT to close lanes of eastbound and westbound Interstate 270 between Lindbergh Boulevard and Interstate 170 this weekend.

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) and its contractor, Pace Construction Company, will close twill close several lanes of eastbound and westbound Interstate 270 between Lindbergh Boulevard and Interstate 170 this weekend starting Friday.

A MoDOT statement said the closing of this stretch of highway, which goes through Hazelwood, will be weather permitting.

Crews will close one eastbound lane beginning at 9 p.m. Friday. A second lane will close Friday and Saturday between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. Two lanes will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Crews will close two lanes of westbound I-270 at 9 p.m. Friday, to restripe lanes for a traffic shift. Only one lane will be closed westbound from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday.  All lanes are expected to reopen by 8 a.m. Sunday.

Access to eastbound I-270 from both northbound and southbound Lindbergh Boulevard will be closed during the weekend lane closures.

  • Northbound Lindbergh traffic is advised to use Pershall Road to eastbound I-270.
  • Southbound Lindbergh traffic is advised to use Taylor to Dunn Road to eastbound I-270.

All lanes are expected to reopen by 8 a.m. Sunday, according to MoDOT.

The work is part of the bridge rehabilitation project for the Coldwater Creek bridges on eastbound and westbound I-270. Various lane closures will occur throughout the next two-to-three months for this project.
