Developer Paul McKee: $2 Million in Hazelwood Back Taxes Owed

MCKee hasn't paid taxes on his Hazelwood Commerce Center site in three years.

Developer Paul McKee Jr. did not pay property taxes on his Hazelwood Commerce Center project last year, for the third year in a row.

According to St. Louis County property records, McKee owes about $2 million in taxes, interest and penalties on the site.

He had hoped to turn the location into an industrial park, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

McKee’s attorney said his client would probably pay enough taxes to keep the site from being auctioned.

McKee also has a regeneration project in north St. Louis. Both projects have  received millions in state tax credits. More than $47 million combined thus far.
