Sen. McCaskill to appear in Hazelwood at Boeing Monday

This is a rescheduled tour McCaskill originally planned in October to visit Boeing's defense unit and show her support for Boeing's F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet program.

On Monday, U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill will tour Hazelwood’s Boeing Manufacturing Plant and meet with managers and employees about the value of the F/A-18 Super Hornet. She will also discuss its sustainability as a major job creator in Missouri.

This is in response to Missouri lawmakers praising Boeing rival Lockheed Martin, which builds the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter jet in Texas.

Last month, McCaskill called on the Missouri House to reverse the resolution it approved that called for full funding of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program, calling it the “poster child of a bloated, out-of-control, over-budget, behind schedule aircraft.”
